At the 2018 AESOP Congress in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 10 to 14 of July, Heritage Track will be examining the importance of liberating heritage in theory and practice by unpacking the multiple layers of meaning that constitute it, by exploring its links to the politics of identity and memory in cities, and by expanding its authority from being limited to conflict and in the hands of experts and officials to other forms of hopeful practices conducted by a wide range of actors.
