The first ICCC conference gathered international experts at TU Darmstadt

The first International Conference on Cities and Change, titled "Three Decades of Post-socialist Transition", organised by the Urban Morphosis Lab at TU Darmstadt, aimed at marking three decades since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of state-socialism in Central and Eastern Europe. During the two conference days, from May 17-18, more than 150 urban experts from across Europe and beyond had a chance to get inputs by the leading academics in the field, attend inter- and trans-disciplinary debates, and benefit from a plenty of opportunities for exchange and networking. The jointly produced new empirical insights, theoretical concepts and analytical methods on cities after transition in Central and Eastern Europe will hopefully contribute to better understanding of the complexity behind the processes of urban change in wider international contexts.

Urban Morphosis Lab wishes to thank to all the keynote speakers, session chairs, presenters and participants for their motivation, engagement and joint contribution to the success of the first International Conference on Cities and Change.
